How can I request a book or article that UDC does not have?

Answer

UDC Law students and staff can request books not currently available at UDC Law or Main Campus libraries either through the Washington Research Library Consortium or through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

The best place to start is by searching the Main Campus catalog, which will show titles available at other local libraries. When you locate the title you want, you can select the link to "Check for Available Services"

  • Click the link labeled "Sign In" under "Where to get it"
  • Select "External User" from the box that appears
  • Enter your email address and the password you use for your UDC email under "Sign in with your organizational account"
  • You are returned to the summary page linked to above - click on CLS or ILL request and complete the form that appears.
  • Click "Send Request"

You should hear back from the main campus library when the book is available for pickup.  The main campus library is located in Building 39 on the B Level.  You can reach the library through the Student Center.
